BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- The upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will fully summarize China's major achievements and valuable experience gained in its reform and development endeavors.
It will also formulate programs of action and overarching policies to meet China's new development goals on the journey ahead in the new era and the new expectations of the people.
The world is keeping a close eye on how the week-long meeting will map out a blueprint for China's growth, and how the country will further contribute to world peace and development.
ACHIEVEMENTS IN NEW ERA
Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, China has made historic achievements and shifts in economic and social development, successfully promoting and expanding a Chinese-style modernization. Over the past decade, the CPC has led the Chinese people in striving for this great success, demonstrating the strong vitality of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Speaking highly of China's great achievements in the past 10 years, overseas experts and observers have expressed their high expectations for China's bigger role in global affairs after the 20th CPC National Congress, which is expected to write a new chapter for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
The past decade was extremely extraordinary for China as the country has achieved significant success in its development, said Xulio Rios, director of the Observatory of Chinese Politics in Spain.
China has eliminated extreme poverty and made remarkable achievements in such fields as science and technology and environmental protection, Rios said. He added that as China's role in global affairs becomes increasingly important, the global society has great expectation for the 20th CPC National Congress.
Ehecatl Lazaro, researcher of Mexican Center for Economic and Social Studies, said that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has become one of the countries with an important influence on the international economic, political and social development in the 21st century.
The decisions made at the 20th CPC National Congress will have great significance for the whole world, including Latin America, Lazaro said.
Noting that the upcoming meeting will review the CPC's valuable experience in state governance, Randy Alonso, director general of popular Cuban website cubadebate.cu, said that the experience will not only help embark on a new journey for China's growth, but also continue to push for world development.
He said China's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and the Global Security Initiative (GSI) proposed by the country will remain important in international cooperation and global governance.
Reviewing China's achievements in the past decade, Tang Zhimin, director of China ASEAN Studies at the Bangkok-based Panyapiwat Institute of Management, highlighted China's adherence to the people-centered development philosophy, the eradication of poverty for nearly 100 million rural residents, the building of the world's largest education system, and social security and healthcare system.
He said these achievements have made China a model in developing countries, adding that with the 20th CPC National Congress around the corner, ASEAN countries are highly interested in how China's future economic and social progress will bring more certainty to global development.
POSITIVE INFLUENCE
The 20th CPC National Congress will envision the two-step strategic plan for building China into a great modern socialist country, with a focus on outlining strategic tasks and major initiatives for the next five years. The congress is expected to bring more benefits to the people of China as well as the rest of the world.
The Chinese "seem serene even if they are very busy," said French international affairs expert Bruno Guigue. "In my eyes, the serenity of the Chinese people is the tangible expression of their material and spiritual success."
Guigue said socialism with Chinese characteristics is in line with China's national conditions, adding that he will focus on China's plan to further promote high-quality development at the upcoming CPC national congress.
As the world now faces great turbulence and turmoil, China is bringing hope for developing countries via the joint construction of Belt and Road, said William Jones, Washington bureau chief of the U.S. publication Executive Intelligence Review.
"The path charted by China at the upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be decisive in determining the direction the world takes," Jones said.
The world is looking forward to the upcoming meeting, because China will unswervingly promote its high-quality development and firmly strive for a strong modern country, said Luis Antonio Paulino, a professor at Sao Paulo State University.
At the same time, China's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the GDI will continue to promote an early realization of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) will continue to drive the development and prosperity of developing countries, including Latin American countries, the professor said.
China's new guidelines to be unveiled after the CPC national congress will not only shape the future of China, but also promote the development of the world, said Joseph Matthews, a senior professor at the BELTEI International University in Phnom Penh.
From the Belt and Road Initiative to the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, China has provided a clear blueprint for global development, which has a transformative effect on both Asia and the world, he added.
SHARED OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH
In today's world, with major global changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, both unseen in a century, economic globalization is facing headwind, and the world has entered a new period of turbulence and change.
Against such a backdrop, observers expect that after the 20th CPC National Congress, China's growth will promote global economic recovery and an open world economy, bringing new opportunities to other countries.
Jean Christophe Iseux von Pfetten, president of the Institute for East-West Strategic Studies in Britain, kindled his interest in China as Chinese students took part-time jobs in the factory of his family in France several decades ago.
As a long time observer of China, he said that the country's development has been a stabilizer for the world economy for many years, thus the 20th CPC National Congress will have a profound impact not only on China, but also on the international community.
Alexey Maslov, director of the Institute of the Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University, said the world is paying close attention to the action plan and major policies to be formulated at the 20th CPC National Congress, which are very critical not only for China's development, but also for global issues such as food and energy security, as China is one of the most important parties.
Recently, the "FutureChina Global Forum" was held in Singapore, during which the 20th CPC National Congress became a hot topic. Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, China's share of the global economy has risen from 11.4 percent to more than 18 percent, and the country's contribution to world economic growth has generally remained at around 30 percent, he noted, adding that China has signed BRI cooperation documents with 149 countries and 32 international organizations as of September this year.
Baisek said China has proposed the GDI and the GSI, and promoted the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. He also said he believes after the 20th CPC National Congress, China will continue to provide dynamism for global economic growth and contribute to the development and stability of the world.
CONTRIBUTION TO HUMAN CIVILIZATION
Standing at a crossroads, the human society is facing unprecedented challenges. At this critical juncture, observers expect that China's visions and experience on state governance to be summed up at the 20th CPC National Congress could offer more inspirations for the whole world, further contributing to world peace and development and the progress of human civilization.

China has put forward a series of new ideas, proposals and initiatives in the past 10 years. China actively participated in UN peacekeeping operations and played an important role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. China has made a significant positive contribution to global economic governance with its lead to create the AIIB -- the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Michie added.
He said he will keenly focus on the 20th CPC National Congress to see how China may help contribute to global governance.
Abdulaziz Alshaabani, an expert on China from Saudi Arabia, said that China's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind promotes solidarity and coordination among countries, and the GDI responds to the appeal of developing countries to get rid of the impact of the pandemic as soon as possible and return to the right track of development, giving a strong boost to multilateralism.
The expert said he hopes that the 20th CPC National Congress will continue to provide constructive and pioneering propositions and ideas for global development and human solidarity and progress, so that more countries can learn from the successful experience of CPC governance, he said.
