Notice: Visiting and Reporting Tours from October 12 to 14

The Press Center for the 20th National Congress of the CPC will organize a number of visiting and reporting tours for journalists before and after the opening ceremony.

The visiting and reporting tours from October 12 to 14 are hereby notified as follows.

Wednesday, October 12

1. Morning: Visit the exhibition—“Forging Ahead in the New Era”(8:30-11:30)

Location: Beijing Exhibition Center

Departure Time: 8:30

Meeting Place: Entrance to the lobby of Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing

Introduction: The exhibition presents the great achievements made by China in various fields since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

2. Afternoon: Visit the Central Axis of Beijing and appreciate the history of the capital(13:50-18:00)

Location: Yongdingmen Imperial Road, Qianmen Sanlihe Park, Paint Hall, Bell and Drum Tower

Departure Time: 13:50

Meeting Place: Entrance to the lobby of Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing

Introduction: As an iconic cultural place of Beijing, the Central Axis is a witness of the capital city’s history and development into modernity. In recent years, Beijing has promoted the protection of cultural heritage and planned to submit a world cultural heritage application for its Central Axis. Thanks to these efforts, the time-honored city has become more glamorous, people’s life better and its historical and cultural feature more prominent. The reporting tour will bring journalists to the remains of Yongdingmen Imperial Road, the green space along the Central Axis, hutong, and courtyard…and to enjoy waterfront view in Sanlihe Park, learn how to bring life to cultural heritage at the Paint Hall, and visit the “Story of Time” exhibition at the Bell and Drum Tower, appreciating the historical charm of the capital.

Thursday, October 13

Afternoon: Beijing City Sub-Center (13:00-18:50)

Location: Beijing “Two Zones” Reception Hall, Grand Canal Forest Park, Beijing City Sub-Center Theater, Library, Museum

Departure Time: 13:00

Meeting Place: Entrance to the lobby of Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing

Introduction: Beijing has promoted high-quality development, accelerated the construction of its sub-center, and improved people’s sense of fulfillment and happiness. In the Canal Business District, the journalists will visit the Beijing “Two Zones” Reception Hall and learn about the achievements made during the construction of Beijing’s “Two Zones.” A boat tour of the Grand Canal will be arranged, for journalists to explore the millenniums-old water channel. They will also ascend a high place to have an overall view of the sub-center, which is interwoven with rivers and trees. During the visit, the journalists will also tour three landmark buildings to envision the city’s future.

Friday, October 14

1. Morning: The Power of Technology (7:30-11:30)

Location: Baidu’s Apollo Park

Departure Time: 7:30

Meeting Place: Entrance to the lobby of Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing

Introduction: Baidu’s Apollo Park is the world’s largest autonomous driving and vehicle-road collaborative application test base, where journalists can experience the application scenarios of autonomous driving and other technologies in an immersive way.

2. Afternoon: Learn about financial innovation (13:40-17:30)

Location: Beijing New Actuation Fintech Center, Financial Street Center

Departure Time: 13:40

Meeting Place: Entrance to the lobby of Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing

Introduction: Journalists will be invited to visit Beijing New Actuation Fintech Center and the “Rising Financial Technology” Exhibition. Meanwhile, the journalists will watch the Financial Street’s planning sand table and the “Exhibition on the Development History of the Financial Street” in the Financial Street Center, and visit the Financial Street Service Bureau and the enterprises in the financial street in the form of salon exchange to learn about the development of Financial Street in the past 30 years and its contribution to the national financial development.

 Participants are required to strictly comply with the following requirements:

1. Getting negative nucleic acid test certificate within 24 hours before the start of the activity;

2. Holding green health code and travel history code;

3. No record of traveling outside Beijing within 7 days before the activity;

4. No travel history to medium or high risk areas in Chinese mainland, overseas travel history, or contact with confirmed or suspected cases in the 10 days before the activity;

5.The body temperature should not exceed 37.3℃. There should be no suspected symptoms such as cough, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, and loss of smell or taste.
